I am Chuyuan \u674e\u695a\u6e90. Usually, I go by Lisa. <\/span><\/p>\n I have recently joined the University of British Columbia as a postdoc fellow, working with Prof. Giuseppe Carenini<\/a>. I obtained my Ph.D. in 2023 at<\/span>\u00a0LORIA (Universit\u00e9 de Lorraine) under the supervision of Prof.\u00a0Maxime Amblard<\/a>\u00a0and Dr.\u00a0Chlo\u00e9 Braud. <\/a><\/span>I earned my Master’s in Computational<\/em>\u00a0<\/span>Linguistique<\/span><\/em>\u00a0from Universit\u00e9 Paris Cit\u00e9\u00a0(Paris Diderot). Before that,\u00a0I obtained my bachelor’s degree in China, majoring in French Language & Literature<\/em>, and my Master’s in Strategy & Management of International Business<\/em> in Paris.<\/span><\/p>\n My research interests lie in computational linguistics and Natural Language Processing, including\u00a0discourse processing<\/strong>, dialogue analysis<\/strong>, and language specificity detection<\/strong>\u00a0(for instance consistency checking, bias, and language in people with cognitive impairments such as Schizophrenia and Dementia). I am currently exploring how Large Language Models<\/strong> perform at predicting structured knowledge and how to use LLMs properly in practical scenarios such as the mental health domain. I am happy to collaborate with students who are interested in these topics. Please send me an email.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n During my PhD, I conducted research on predicting Schizophrenia patients from a French dataset with specific linguistic features and classical classification algorithms, with some interesting results! (<\/span>TALN 2020<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Journ\u00e9e TLH et Sant\u00e9<\/span><\/a>). I also worked on depression detection in dialogues leveraging different levels of information within a multi-task learning framework (<\/span>SIGDial 2022<\/span><\/a>). On discourse processing, I built a semi-supervised pipeline that extracts structural information in Transformers and utilizes only a handful of annotated data\u00a0(EACL 2023,<\/a>\u00a0GdR-Lift 2023<\/a>, CODI2024, Ph.D. thesis<\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n I speak French, English, and Chinese.
