Accordingly, the detailed understanding of <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the molecular interactions between pathogens and their hosts is crucial. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The main goal of this PhD project is to<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">study the<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">surfaces of<\/span> <strong><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">protein-protein <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">interactions<\/span><\/strong> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">that help Streptococcus Pyogenes to evade the immune responses. Such <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">information will be used then to<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">design protein binders<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">to inhibit such interactions. <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">To achieve this goal, the candidate will develop a<\/span> <strong><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">deep learning<\/span><\/strong> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">model to predict the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">binding sites and the potential binders within the search space. <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">This position will provide<\/span> <strong><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">international collaboration<\/span><\/strong> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">with microbiologists and <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">protein design groups with the possibility of in-site<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">internships<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">for 1-3 months.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The PhD candidate will be hosted in the<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">CAPSID team, LORIA<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">lab<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(INRIA \u2013<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">CNRS \u2013 UL)<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">, supervised by<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Hamed Khakzad<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">INRIA<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Junior Professor) with<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">expertise in integrative structural biology, host-pathogen interactions, protein design, <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">and deep learning,<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Marie-Dominique Devignes<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(CNRS, HDR), expert in data<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">integration and knowledge discovery from biological databases,<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">and<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Isaure Chauvot <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">de Beauchene<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">, expert in macromolecular modeling and docking<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">.
