The paper outlines problems of quality control of digital map creation by using a raster technology. Main stages of the technology and map image models are extracted and characterized. Basic quality properties of the map models are defined. Three level quality control system implemented on a knowledge-based approach is considered in brief. The suggested approach allows to increase the level of automation and speed up a creation of the desired applied digital map with necessary quality properties.
