Living Assistant Robot (LAR)

Abstract

LAR project has the objective to designing an assistant robot to improve the autonomy and quality of life for elderly and fragile persons. The project started at the beginning of the year. The role of the Larsen Team is to develop a simultaneous localisation and mapping algorithm using a RGB-D camera. The main issue is to develop an algorithm able to deal with dynamic environment. An other issue is for the robot to be able to behave with acceptable social skills.
